Fossil Fuel Finance Report Card

Data from Rainforest Action Network and BankTrack show which banks are increasing financing to fossil fuel companies.
JP Morgan Chase is the largest fossil fuel financier in the world according to the 2019 Banking on Climate Change report. The US bank financed $63.9 billion in fossil fuel-related company financing in 2018 according to the report. Wells Fargo is the second largest. It has almost doubled its financing to the sector over the last two years.
Here is a list of banks that have decreased their financing to fossil fuels since 2016: Bank of America, Barclays, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas, ICBC, China Construction Bank, ING, Agricultural Bank of China, Uncredit, Santander and RBS.
